CK-MB Isoenzyme Quantiation in Patients with Acute Myocardial Infarction by Electrophoresis and Dry Immunochemical Method

Elevated CK-MB activities are used as a sensitive and specific index of myocardial necrosis or ischemia We compared the analytical performance of two different assays, Kodak EKTACHEM-500, dry immunochemical inethod, and HELENA CK, traditional
electrophoretic method. Retrospectively we evaluated 115 patients of acute myocardial infarction. Results of the new dry immunochemical method(slide method) from acute myocardial infarction patients correlated with those of the electrophcretic
method(r=0.56). Kodak EKTACHEM slide method was easy to perform and rapid for analysis of CK-MB. Our data suggests that this slide method might be specific and useful in measuring absolute CK-MB quantities in the early diagnosis of suspected
myocardial
injury.
